mobiTheme - WordPress Theme for Mobile Devices
mobiTheme is a mobile theme for WordPress. It can be used either as a standalone blog OR in conjuction with one of the many plugins that offer theme switching according to the users platform (See FAQ ’s for more info). Although compact in design, this theme offers all the features to the user that a normal WordPress blog theme has to offer, in other words it doesn’t cripple the users browsing experience by hiding archives and categories selection and other browsing options.
The mobiTheme WordPress theme can run straight out of the box with no plugin’s required to get it up and running. There are two built in widgets and a widget ready area to allow for greater expansion. The built-in twitter widget caches your twitter RSS feed and only refreshes every 60 minutes to avoid the twitter API call limit and to help keep your blog running quickly and smoothly on each and every page load.

Just bought this theme for mobile, while I’m using Dynamix for my main site. I’m really confused how to configure it. I did what you said as far as installing Wordpress Mobile Pack and used the Mobile Switcher, but it just shows an empty page with a bunch of random categories and no posts… Is it configured through Wordpress Mobile Pack settings? Dynamix has its own settings bar that gets installed on my dashboard… If you need to see how my site is configured, it’s www.metalarcade.net

Hi, how easy is it to implement ad code to this theme? Also, is it possible to have an ad appear in the middle of content? And can this use my Disqus comments from the main site? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteHi. It’s fairly simple to implement and i would suggest reading the FAQ’s section as well as past comments to get a feel before purchasing:

There’s no reason why you can’t use any ad plugin or ad code to display ads anywhere within the theme and the same applies to the Disqus comments.
Think of the theme as a shrunk down (visually) wordpress theme. No functionality has been removed at all so go wild!

It’s a shame you didn’t wait a reasonable amount of time for a response to your message and for support on this issue before leaving negative feedback.
ReplyDeleteHow am i supposed to help you without providing more info, a URL, login details for your site? This is the first report of such “bugs” from the many sales this theme has received so before leaving negative feedback perhaps you should consider contacting the developer directly for assistance.

Believe it or not, we’re also human, some of us with families and actually don’t work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I know, crazy right?!
So please bear with us and we’ll get to your issue as soon as possible. If you’re not happy with the theme then feel free to open a case with Envato and request a refund however, seeing as you’re the only 1 of 432 sales that has reported this issue then i doubt they will accept a refund due to a “buggy theme”. It’s out of my hands so say whether they will or won’t but it’s up to you to decide whether you want to wait for support or request a refund.

I just bought the theme and it is not installing. Its is saying:The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.

ReplyDeleteAre you sure you’re trying to upload the theme only and not the entire package downloaded from themeforest?
In the package you downloaded from your account. Unzip it and you should see a number of folders. Select the folder of which version you’d like to install (Wordpress Theme 3.0+, or 2.8-2.9) and create a zip file from that folder. Once that’s been zipped up, upload only that folder as the theme from within your wordpress site.
I will re-package the download file from themeforest as i’ve just noticed that this may be a bit confusing to some users.
Let me know if you manage to sort out this issue.

ReplyDeleteThis one is really baffling…something with the new iPhone 6 plus is causing the format in the header to get screwed up. Looks fine on other mobile devices and when viewing the theme on a desktop. I have a screen shot I can send.

I am installing the zip file that I downloaded. Do I need to alter the zip file first?

Hi Terry. I’ve just had a look at the download zip on themeforest and it seems the zip is missing for uploading directly to wordpress.
ReplyDeleteI will fix the missing zips and submit an updated item to the queue but so you don’t have to wait for approval of the updated item, follow these instructions and you should be good to go.
1. Unzip the main zip file downloaded from themeforest
2. locate the appropriate folder for your wordpress version – most likely Wordpress Theme 3.0+
3. Within that folder, zip up the folder called mobiTheme
4. Upload that zip file to wordpress
